Toilet Paper 2.0 questions an item, concept and ritual we all know and use everyday: toilet paper. Why do we use toilet paper to clean the filthiest of messes, when most of us wouldn’t use it to “wash” our hands when they get dirty? This is where Toilet Paper 2.0 comes in—say hello to the bidet, the appliance that can be found in almost every Japanese household.

Each shot depicts snapshots of various attempts at cleaning up spills, smears and smudges with only toilet paper, paired with photographs that amplify the benefits of using water, as symbolized through Washlet buttons.

Designed and conceptualized with Victoria Marshall.
